It’s semi-final time in the ProTen Community Cup tomorrow out at Rankins Springs with Goolgowi taking on Barellan while Rankins Springs was meant to take on Hillston, but in the last two days, that has all changed and Narrandera will take their place.

Due to Hillston fielding an unregistered player during last weekend’s win over Narrandera, and as such have lost the two competition points picked up from that game.
This now means that Narrandera have made their way into the top four and will take on the Dragons on Saturday in the main game at 2.30pm.
The Springs will look to the likes of young fullback Billy Vearing who looks a very good prospect, centre Kane Wilson who has been in tip-top form and Damien Walker not only in general play but with his goal-kicking in which the number six has had a very successful season.
Rhys Parsons has really improved as the season pans out and he is as good as any number seven in the competition while the Dragons forwards have been the main reason they are where they are.
With the exception of the game against Goolgowi a fortnight back in which I thought both sets of forwards broke even in the classic, no other side has got over the top of the Dragons six and that is something Narrandera have to contend with.
In the 1pm game, Goolgowi will go into the match against Barellan as favourites to get the chocolate royals.
These two met in the second game in Narrandera back on June 16 with Goolgowi, after a real 70-minute slog on a wet track, coming away with an 8-4 win.
The Bunnies had too much for a game Ivanhoe last week, and while I’m tipping them to be the first side in the grand final it isn’t going to be a stroll among the daisies, in fact, I think the Rams will go very close.
While Goolgowi has standouts in fullback William Hale, centres Lexy Firebrace and Nathan Sanders, halfback Simon McClure and a very strong forward pack headed by John Michael Cahill, Jeremy Young, Michael Vitucci and Ben McRae, Barellan isn’t short of talent either.
Captain Ben Evans is a very good player who knows what it takes to win a game of football and will get plenty of support from fullback Albert Gibson, a player in very good form, winger Reece Wilson, centres Ryan Overall and Brad Gordon, hooker Adam Thomas, props Brett Brody and Rod Evans along with young second rower Blake Spowart. Don’t worry this will be a very good game and while I don’t think there will be all that much in it at the finish, on form Goolgowi, but I won’t be surprised if the Rams get the job done.
