The Sharks were able to open the scoring in the 11th minute, but their lead lasted only five minutes as Tongia Fox found his way across the line.
Two tries in quick succession as Stephan Broome and Josh Lavemai got across the line to give the Blueheelers a 14-6 lead before Broome crossed for his second of the day just before halftime.
Yenda maintained their momentum after the break as Jayden Conaghan scoring just 60 seconds after the halftime break while Broome completed his hat-trick 10 minutes later and with Tumokai Panapa-Poka crossing just minutes later, the Blueheelers lead 38-6.
The sides traded tries over the space of 10 minutes to see the Sharks needing to score 24 points in the dying stages of the game which proved too much as Lavemai scored his second of the game while Brent Pike was able to score a consolation try for the Sharks.
