While the finishing touches weren’t quite where coach Luke Santolin would have liked them, they found a way to get the three points.
“The play wasn't too far off it was just the final ball or the timing of the run that let us down,” he said.
“I think we had four offsides in the first half. We just have to get back on the training paddock and get a bit more polish.
There was a stage in the first half where we started taking too many touches, but we fixed that up so just playing simple soccer is sometimes the hardest to do, but we did it ok.”
Despite having the run of play for most of the first half, it took until Darren Bailey made a run from centre back to get on the end of a Mitch Bagiante through ball and place it past the West Griffith shot-stopper.
Santolin was full of praise for the hard-working defender.
“He is hard to read, and he is very hard to mark, and if he wants to make that run it is very hard to stick with him,” he said.
“He is a little bit of an x-factor and can play a few different positions, so we love having him in the team.”
Yoogali managed to find their way to go with more consistency in the second half as they put away three late goals.
Bailey managed to pick out Grant Davidson in the middle who chested the ball into the path of Bagiante who had his double soon after when he got on the end of a through ball from Isaac Donadel.
The game was put to bed when Bailey completed his double after the ball was played into the box by Stevie Crombie and then headed back across goal by Luke Pandolfo for Bailey to apply the finishing touch.
Yoogali SC will look to maintain their perfect start when they take on Yoogali FC Two while Wests will look to pick up unlikely points against Hanwood Blue.
