On Saturday night after the rain, Ted Scobie Oval, Alexander Park on Alexander Street and Chandler Park on Polkinghorne Street were torn up by a vehicle doing burn-outs.
Inspector Nick Seddon said he was calling anyone with information to contact police to prevent something like this happening in the future.
“It’s a pretty low act – willingly destroying a park kids use,” Inspector Seddon said.
“It costs money to replace, and affects children’s and the wider communities enjoyment for a very selfish act.”
“I don’t think anyone with a social conscience would think this is funny.”
