Yenda has ended West Wyalong’s unbeaten start to the season after a surprise 56-14 win over the Mallee Men at Wade Park on Sunday afternoon.
The home side started the game strongly with co-coach Michael Mogliotti able to cross in the opening two minutes before West Wyalong answered though Derryn Clayton only minutes later.
Mogliotti crossed for his second while Willie Lolohea and Stephen Broome also found the try line to see the Blueheelers enter halftime with a commanding 22-4 lead.
The Mallee Men wasted no time in the second half as Cameron Miller and Justin Kerry go across the line to reduce the gap to eight points, but the home side ran away with the game from there.
Broome completed his double for the day as Yenda scored six unanswered second-half tries to run away with the 56-14 win.
