After two straight wins for the Yoogali side, they have had two tough games in a row after taking on Hanwood Blue in the last Griffith District Football Association round before taking on Glebe Gorillas in the State Cup last weekend.
It was a 3-1 loss to Hanwood at Hanwood Oval while they fought to the end against Glebe to eventually fall 7-4 in a high scoring game.
Yoogali were able to put the first goal away in the opening minutes of the game before Glebe hit back. Michael Perre led the way, scoring two. Sam Ciampa and Roy Catanzariti each came away with one to their name.
West Griffith, on the other hand, had the weekend off after they received a forfeit in the State Cup last weekend.
The Wests players were ready to go at 9am at Hanwood Oval. However, their opponents in Parramatta City never showed up leaving the Griffith side to take a second round place in the State Cup.
In the local competition, the West Griffith side had endured a tough start to the season taking the two top sides in Yoogali SC and Hanwood Blue before picking up their first points of the season with a 4-1 win over Yoogali FC Two.
The battle between the third and fourth placed teams will get underway at Coro Club Oval at 1pm.
