After a feeling out process from both sides the Black and Whites’ Kelvin Simpson and Jaden Clark crossed to make it 12-0 after 14 minutes.
The Black and Whites looked like they would hold out until half time before the Mallee Men crossed through Tim Dore and Sam Kerry to see the scores locked at 12-12 going into the break.
15 minutes after the second half resumed Jerome Rapana restored the Black and Whites lead.
Craig Iverach hit back for the Mallee Men however the missed conversion meant they were still two points behind which was pushed back to six points when youngster Ziggy Vincent crossed for the Panthers.
The Mallee Men drew level when Christopher Mayberry crossed with with five minutes to go and it looked like their would be the second draw of the season.
That was until Mitchell Pettit kicked the decisive field goal with just seven second left in the game.
