Over 70 students are combining their talents either as part of the cast, ensemble, dance, music, back stage or the artistic crew.
Showcasing their individual skills, students will bring this scream of a musical production to life.
The fun filled family musical follows the life of Wednesday, the daughter of eccentrics Gomez and Morticia Addams, and her relationship with a sweet, smart and normal boy.
"We have a committed team of both staff and students to bring the Griffith community yet another one of our fantastic productions," Producer Belinda Aventi stated.
"The Addams Family musical appealed to us as it was different to what we had performed previously. It has allowed students to engage with a genre that they may not have necessarily been exposed to and has been a rewarding learning experience."
With the band in the orchestral pit under the direction of Matthew Segrave and directed by the amazing drama college department, The Addams Family is shaping up to be another successful production for Marian Catholic College.
The musical is a first for Loane Saula and he was quite taken back when he landed the lead role of Gomez. The casting crew were drawn to him and the way he engaged them.
“The auditions were quite different, there were so many others there,” Loane Saula said
“It was a lot of pressure and I had to up my game.”
Bonnie Browne cast in the lead role of Morticia. Bonnie no stranger to the stage, taking part in the Regional Theatre’s productions of Beauty and the Beast and Wicked as well as being part of the production team GRAP.
“This is different to what I have done in the past, although the sets and costumes are dark and a little gothic the story line is a love story and this makes it fun,” Bonnie said.
She says performing gives you the chance to tell different stories.
“It is so fun and freeing and you get to hop out of your world for a while and be part of someone else’s.”
Shows kick off on June 27, Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased from Griffith Regional Theatre.
