It was a case of giving the opposition too much of a head start as CSU came out firing in the first term and the Swans were unable to get the ball outside their defensive fifty for large parts.
The visiting CSU side was able to make the most of their forward pressure to kick four goals and four behinds in the opening 15 minutes to go in at quarter time up 29-0.
The Swans fought back hard in the second term to hold the visitors scoreless however weren’t able to have the same impact on the scoreboard but still managed to bring the score back to within 15 points.
Both sides only kicked two points each in the third before CSU closed out the game kicking two goals in the final term to Griffith’s one to take a convincing 6.2 (44) to 3.6 (24) victory.
