Hiki Loseli, who is now manager of clothing story Cartel Griffith, was featured in the paper on March 6, 1998.
Hiki said his role as school captain of Griffith Primary School was good preparation of his current job.
“It was a great experience, learning how to run school assemblies and that sort of thing. I’ve lived in Griffith all my life and made lots of friends here, I miss those school days,” Hiki said.
Hiki was a captain alongside Meaghan Golsby-Smith, Rachael Best and Jason Turner.
Samantha Tyrell showed she was front page material even back in 1998, when she appeared a member of the Tharbogang Public School Council.
“I went to Tharbogang for years 5 and 6. Kindy to year 4 at Lake Wyangan school. It was a small school. There was only 5 or 6 of us in year 6 from memory,” Samantha said.
Tharbogang also featured on the school’s page that week, with Isabella Thompson bringing in her pet Beagle Puppy; and Mrs Lynne Crook and Miss Melissa Turner introduced as new teaching staff.
Kirsty Lee Roy and Ben McIntosh were profiled as reading buddies, while Holly Betts was photographed later in the week as captain of Lake Wyangan school.
