Michelle gave the keynote address at Griffith Women in Business’s (GWIB) first ever formal event a the Griffith Exies Club, and left everyone in the audience with a sense of purpose.
Tennille Catanzariti has been following Michelle’s work, and when she found out she was coming to Griffith, it was a no-brainer for her to go. The bonus: she got to meet and chat with her.
“It was quite surreal, but it was great to meet her. It was kind of like chatting with an old friend, she was very down to earth,” Ms Catanzariti said.
“She’s the same person you see on TV or videos, she was the same in front of an audience as well as in person, she was just lovely,” Ms Catanzariti said.
President of GWIB Belinda Johns said Michelle blew all expectations out of the water.
"We were inspired by Michelle's encouraging and thoughtful presentation. The perfect combo of business and personal advice delivered with her winning style,” Ms Johns said.
Michelle’s speech was motivational, but linked with practical every-day experiences to make it relatable and doable.

Michelle then spent time afterwards meeting and greeting fans, and made an impact in more than a few lives.
Matthew Kenny from Griffith’s LiveFit 24/7 was one of four men who attended the event, and said seeing Michelle, a pioneer in the fitness industry, really hit home the importance of doing what you love.
“She’s achieved so much, and it’s something we would all like to aspire to, and it’s easy to see she loves what she does and we are the same – we love what we do, and people see that good things happen from there,” Mr Kenny said.
Michelle linked her story and her own personal journey to create a “beautiful” blend of motivational advice to take away and put in practice.
“You always have a perception of someone based on what you see in the media, and she just outreached that for everyone who got to meet her in person,” Ms Johns said.
This was GWIB’s first formal event, and Ms Johns said they went big early, and hope to keep the strong momentum going.
“I guess we want to set a standard for our events, and we have a few more exciting things in the pipeline.”
