Jess picked up the novice-expert and novice social categories while also having some success in the open marathon category during the Victorian State Titles.
“It was a good weekend there,” he said.
“We had two firsts, and a third (in the open marathon) and that was it for me, and Dad and Chloe picked up a first as well.”
The young skier then made the trip to the Southern 80 at Moama to tackle the challenging course.
The track features 126 bends including three big hairpins but Spencer said the calm conditions really help maintain quick speed.
“The first two runs at the Southern 80 we got a fourth in social and a fifth in super social which we were happy about,” he said.
“We were up against all of the big boys there and then the second which really was our run of the weekend.
“You have to go flat out the whole way if you want to have a good chance.”
The second place came in the Unlimited Outboard Expert category with Jess finishing with a time of 41:03 which saw him narrowly missed out on first place by only three minutes.
