The spin bowling duo of Joel Mulder and Dean Bennett took eight of the 10 Lake Cargelligo wickets to ensure they hold on to the Creet Cup over the offseason once again.
Earlier in the day, Griffith won the toss and electing to bat and with Dean Bennett and Andrew Potter they looked to build a foundation to build on.
When Bennett (17) fell to the bowling Greg McFadyen, Griffith lost four wickets in quick succession.
Potter (6) fell to the bowling of McFadyen (2/19), and Mitchell Johnson (2/35) took two wickets from the other end to remove Griffith captain Haydn Pascoe (8) and Reece Matheson (3) to have Griffith on 4/42.
Theo Valeri and Lucas Conlan put their heads and started the push to give their side a competitive total to defend.
The pair put on 69 runs for the fifth wicket before Valeri (42) was dismissed just short of a well deserved half century with Jason Hampel (1) following close behind.
Conlan continued his push for runs and quickened the scoring rate with Marc Tucker with the side looking to get as many runs on the board in the final overs as possible.
The pair were able to put on a quickfire 67-run partnership before the innings came to a close with Conlan finishing unbeaten on 48 while Tucker unbeaten on 34 and see Griffith reach the end of their innings on 6/170.
Dean Harris (17) and Andrew Brasnett (18) looked to get their side moving towards the massive total before Brasnett fell to the bowling of Satvir Chahal (1/13).
When Harris and Johnson fell in quick succession, it was the beginning of the end for the visitors.
Starting with the wicket of Colin Fisher (17), Bennett (4/9) and Mulder (4/13) began to work their magic taking the last six wickets for just seven runs.
When the damage was done, Lake Cargelligo were bowled out for 83 to give Griffith an 87-run victory.
Griffith has now held on to the Creet Cup for six straight challenges and will now hold onto the cup until the first challenge next season.
