It is a rare occurrence when sides can’t be separated after their allotted overs, but that was the case as after 70 overs had been bowled the Panthers and Hanwood finished on the same score.
After the Panthers made a slow start with Angus (3) and Hamish Gunn (1) falling early to have their side on 2/15, Michael Cudmore and Noah Gaske led a fightback for their side.
The pair put on 46 runs for the third wicket to give their side a fighting chance which was broken when Gaske (23) was run out and was followed Joel Harris (0) who was dismissed by Sam Robinson (2/13).
Cudmore (44) continued his push for runs before he became Robinson second wicket and unfortunately for the Panthers, no other batsmen were able to have an impact on the score as they reached the end of their 35 overs on 9/112.
While Jordan Whitworth (7) fell early in Hanwood’s innings, they found consistency at the top with Brodie Mirtschin and Robinson.
The pair were able to get their side to 33 before Robinson was dismissed by Oscar Nolan (1/9) which brought captain Angus Bartter to the crease.
Hanwood looked to be cruising towards victory as even after Mirtschin (17) fell Liam Gilbert played a supporting role for Bartter (48).
However, when Gilbert (12) fell on 109, it started issues for the Hanwood side which saw them lose their last five wickets for three runs including a team hat-trick on the last three ball of the game with two run outs and a bowled to see the scores finish level.
In the top of the table clash between Coro and Coleambally on Friday night at Exies, it was a dominant bowling performance from the Cougars which saw them come out on top.
Tom Bowditch (21) and James Clarke (11) were the only batsmen for Coly to break double digits as the Nomads were bowled out for 81.
The score was never going to be enough as Dean (36*) and Kyle Bennett (19) as well as Lucas Conlan (13*) lead the way for the Cougars as they picked up an eight-wicket victory.
