Stuart Smeeth, 30, backed a string of winners in his first ever Yabby races – held annually on January 26 at the popular pub.
“It’s all about looking at the form, and choosing carefully,” Mr Smeeth said.
While his countrymen were collapsing against Australia in the cricket, Mr Smeeth restored pride for the old country, choosing yabbies who crossed the line first on three separate occasions.
“I backed Terrible Tahra, and she kept delivering for me against the odds”.
Mr Smeeth is now considering a career change.
“I think I’ve found my calling,” he said.
Stuart was cheered on by his wife, Bella Vita Tours queen Cassandra Smeeth – a veteran Yabby race enthusiast.
