A 20-year-old female has been rescued from a car that plunged over Scenic Hill this morning.
Griffith Police Chief Inspector John Wadsworth informed Area News that her car went off the lookout attraction at 7.30am this morning.
The woman was found trapped inside the vehicle a third of the way down the hill. She was found conscious and breathing, with smoking coming from the vehicle.
She was rescued by NSW State Emergency Services, assisted by local Fire Rescue staff, who were quick to arrive on the scene. An ambulance was also present.
A crime scene was quickly established.
Area News contacted the police for further information this afternoon, they informed us that the identity of the woman has not yet been released.
There are unconfirmed reports of another major accident near Griffith this afternoon, Area News is seeking further information.
