In reference to the local brothel mentioned in The Area News November 11, 2017 and the council's decision for it to continue at its' present location.
Prostitution has always existed, it's as old as time itself.
I recall many years ago such a woman before the court for being caught doing so.
She explained that her husband had "shot through" leaving her to feed five children and pay the rent to keep the roof over their heads.

There were no financial hand outs back then and wayward husbands were not chased up for maintenance payments for their children's care.
If one didn't work one didn't eat and one and their children would be on the streets, evicted from the premises they occupied.
Times were hard, jobs were few and money short.
This woman was grateful to be able to meet the needs of her children by selling herself as a means of doing so.
Had she not, her children would have been removed by the child welfare and into their care.
On hearing her plight we were able to arrange for her to gain employment in a department, hostel housing her and her children (free of charge), long term, a happy ending for all concerned.
We don't always know with any certainty why people make choices they do (job wise) but today everything choice wise appears acceptable a case of live and let live.
Let's not forget what Christ said to those men stoning the harlot, "ye who are without sin throw the next stone."

safe schools
What is the department of education and governments doing to our grandchildren in regards to "Safe School" programs in sexualising our grandchildren.
What is happening in regards to family teaching?
Our teachers are being told that phrases like "ladies and gentlemen" and "boys and girls" should be avoided.
Teenage boys can use the girls' change rooms and showers, what of the rights of girls?
Political correction the Education department should be teaching children the 3Rs, writing, reading and arithmetic (maths) and when young people leave school they are not able to read and are unable to give out correct change (money) and what has gone wrong with today's education?
Safe school program will be introduced into schools in 2017.
Parents have lost their rights to teach their children respect and family values.
The "safe school" program is sexualising children, already in over 540 primary and high schools across Australia.
It says teenage boys can use the girls change room and showers and tells teachers that phrases like "ladies and gentlemen" and "boys and girls" should be avoided (all of us curriculum, p. 52).

Making a point of thanks at the Point
A BIG thankyou to all who attended the MS Bowls day at the Darlington Point Sports Club last Sunday.
Around $4500 was raised for MS MIA Branch which supports people and their families who are affected by MS in the MIA.
Thanks also to all our sponsors, major and small.
Louise Hornery, Barellan.
