Griffith will launch itself into the festive season this Friday with three weeks of Christmas fun.
The Festival of Lights will comprise of a variety of different events, competitions and Christmas light tours.
Griffith Mayor John Dal Broi says council has also invested in other decorations around town.
“We really wanted to bring the Christmas Spirit to Griffith this year and have designed new flags for the entryways and the main street, new decorations going up in the roundabouts and new decorations and lighting for the Christmas Tree,” he said.

Events included in the festival include the Rotary Christmas Carnival, Carols by Candlelight, a Carevan Christmas event at Pioneer, a number of bus tours and a Moonlight Movie.
A highlight of last year’s Christmas season was a competition for best lights display.
Residents are encouraged to get involved by decorating their homes and lighting up from December 1. There will be prizes for People's Choice, Mayor’s Choice Best House and Best Street.
Griffith City entertainment have donated $20 vouchers for each home that registers, a street party is on offer for the best street and a $1000 voucher will be taken home by the winner of the people’s choice category.
