After picking their first win of the season, Hanwood will be looking to build on the momentum gained when they take on Coro Cougars at Exies No 1.
In their first timed game of the season, Hanwood was able to pick up the first innings points after a convincing batting display from Brad Hornery and Jamie Whitworth who were both able to post a half-century.
Despite the change of playing conditions from one-day games to timed games, Hanwood captain Dean Catanzariti doesn’t think it played a role in the result.
“Honestly I didn’t realise it was a timed game until about halfway through the match,” he said.
“I don’t think that it is going to be too much of a change from our point of view.
“We will just approach the game like we would any other.”
Catanzariti said the victory has definitely given his side confidence heading into this weekend.
“We knew we were capable of getting the win but to actually get it done has given us a boost,” he said.
“This weekend will be much the same it will come down to getting runs on the board.
“We need to win the toss and put scoreboard pressure on.”
Hanwood has found themselves down key personnel throughout most of the season and heading into this weekend’s game against Coro it will be a similar situation.
“We were missing a couple last weekend and will still be missing some this weekend,” he said.
“Hopefully after Christmas, we will be able to get a full-strength team on the park which we haven’t been able to do yet.”
