Last weekend Leeton Scouts joined Scouts from Hay, West Wyalong and Griffith for the 60th annual Jamboree Of The Air at Hay.
Activities included the town Fire Brigade filling a building with smoke and leaving a few victims for the Scouts to find – once located, appropriate First Aid was provided outside the building.
The SES then gave the Scouts a life like exercise in locating a person with a line of sight search which then necessitated the scouts cutting the victim from a smashed vehicle with the assistance of Hay SES.
Ham radio operators from Wagga were on hand during the day and night for making contact with scouts inter and intra state as well as around the globe.
This was also repeated at the Hay high school where scouts were able to use special jamboree chatrooms to talk with scout and guides all over the world.
The highlight was the billy cart derby with our scouts making their own carts over several weeks.
