THERE will be a week of celebrations to commemorate the 10th anniversary of Griffith Central.
The celebration events actually kicked off last Saturday with the third annual Ball in The Mall raising funds for Griffith Can Assist.
They will continue through this week, culminating in a major giveaway with one lucky shopper winning a brand new car.
Monday, October 30
This is the actual anniversary – 10 years ago to the day mayor Dino Zappacosta officially opened Griffith Central.
Griffith Central will host a morning tea for retailers and staff, past and present.
“We have invited representatives of council and other organisations that we have worked with over the past 10 years, including suppliers,” centre manager Cheryl Wood said.
“This is our chance to say thank you to everyone who has been part of Griffith Central over the years.”
Tuesday, October 31
The Griffith Central Seniors Club will hold a morning tea to celebrate the anniversary.
Around 100 senior residents will enjoy the morning with entertainment to be provided by Grant Luhrs.
Thursday, November 2
Claire and Dane will broadcast their Hit 99.7Fm breakfast show from the centre between 6am and 9am, with free bacon and egg rolls at Peeches.
A 8.30am there will be a giant game of pass the parcel, with a range of prizes in the layers.
From 10am to 3pm fashion stylist Shane Rogers will be in stores offering styling tips for new season fashions. There will be special offers in-store on the day.
The “Spin n Win” will take place between Thursday and Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Shoppers can show proof of purchase at any Griffith Central store, spin the wheel and win a prize. Prizes include vouchers at participating stores.
Friday, November 3
Shoppers who spent $20 at Griffith Central stores or $10 in the food went into the draw for the chance to pick the correct key to win a Ford Ecosport, worth $24,990 and courtesy of Keith Gill Motors and Lanhams of Leeton.
The finalists draw for the chance to win a new car will be held at 4pm.
The first 10 correct entries that adhere to terms and conditions will be contacted to attend the final draw on Saturday
Saturday, November 4
The 10 finalists will gather at Griffith Central at 11am, when they will get to choose from 10 keys – one of which will open the car.
One person will win the car, the remainder will get a $200 hand car wash.
There is also a chance to meet Spiderman, at 11.30am, 12.10pm, 12.50pm, 1.30pm and 2.10pm.
