All emergency services were called to a house fire on Burley Street around 3.25pm Monday afternoon.
When ambulance personnel arrived to the scene, they said it was hard to determine the location of the fire, because of the extent of billowing thick smoke.
Police believe there were two occupants in the house at the time, however are still investigating.
Police said a man was arrested at the scene to assist police with enquiries.
In the same time period, there was a car crash on Banna Avenue outside of the post office.
A female patient was transported out of the crash with neck injuries.
The other was a young male believed to be in his 20’s, and he is uninjured, and the ambulance spokesperson said at the time he would not be transported to the hospital.
The scene has since been cleared.
