Tharbogang Public School will for the second year in a row have a relay team representing the school at the State Athletics Carnival.
Jack Furner, Tali Talioe-Sila, Katrina Catanzariti and Harry Robertson will head off to Homebush next week.
Principal Cheryle Glyde said the school are right behind their stars.
“They are very excited and have been working hard,” she said.
“When they first came back from Riverina, and we got the news that we are going to state as soon as the kids heard they were all like 'oh we are off to state' for them as well, so they took that connection with the whole school.”
It was a difficult carnival at Riverina where they finished second in their heat and third overall with a time of 1:02 with one runner carrying an extra burden.
Everyone is proud of them because I don't think they really expected to go that well,” she said.
“One of the boys had their arms in a plaster after he broke his arm football and we didn't know whether he would be able to run. We put him in as the first runner, so he didn't have to pass the baton, but now he has the cast off, so hopefully, they will be looking to improve their time.”
Mrs Glyde thanked Julie Robertson for training the runners.
