
A SINGLE stableford at the Griffith Golf Club last Saturday attracted 66 players, with the lack of rain causing plenty of run on the course, reflecting on the scores.
Steve Tomlinson, a visitor from Gosford, won A Grade carding 38 points, carding a birdie on the 8th, ahead of Alf Franchi 37, with a birdie on the 15th.
John Gale, 41, enjoyed the extra run to take out B Grade, nailing a birdie on the 7th. Mark Webb, 38, runner-up draining a birdie on the 16th.
It was hot in the kitchen in C Grade, Allan LeBroque gave a master class to take the win carding 41, a four point par on the 12th, just ahead of Michael Carnell 40, a four point par on the 2nd.
Pro pins won by Steve Tomlinson and Max Turner. Par Threes to 4th John Harrison, 7th Don Catanzariti, 11th Robin Salvestro, 16th Mark Webb. Vouchers went to 34 points on a countback.
All the footy finals around the place saw a reduced field of 16 players in one grade in a single stableford last Sunday. It was won by Andrew Mott, 42, with a four pointer on the 5th ahead of Andrew Oates 40.

THE Father’s Day Raffle was drawn last Sunday week; Rhonda Romagnolo won the self propelled mower, Shane Gaffey the garden package and Matt Mott the Hahn ice box.
Club pro James Lethlean will be holding school holidays golf clinics. Cost is $10 per day or $20 for the three days for children between the ages of five to 18 years. Contact the Pro Shop on 6962 3742.
The Caltex 5s starts Monday, October 9 with an exciting new format: $50 per team all team members must be club members, so the club will be doing an introductory membership of $120 for six months. Registration forms from the club bar, pro Shop or online.
The club will again hosting the 2017 Inspiration Paint Colour Fun Run on Sunday, September 24. Entry forms from BGS Sports, Axi Kem and PCTC. Adults $30, Children Under 18, $15.

This week is a single stableford and the Second Round of the Cudmore-Williams Trophywith a 10am shotgun start. $20 entry fee includes lunch.
