Deniliquin Police have charged a man in Hay overnight after allegedly finding 20 kilograms of cannabis during a search of his car.

The man was pulled over at 9:20pm on Friday night on the Cobb Highway after police allegedly observed him performing an illegal u-turn.
He was issued a ticket, but during a search of the car police say they found 18.8 kilograms of cannabis leaf in two suitcases.
The 57 year-old was arrested and taken to Hay Police Station. He was later charged with possessing a prohibited drug and supplying cannabis in a commercial quantity.
He was granted bail and will appear before Hay Local Court on Monday October 16.
