After the sides went into the halftime break level at 6-6, the Tahs were able to throw the ball around with success to score 38 unanswered points to come away with a 42-6 win.
Waratahs coach Chris Hanneman was pleased his side were able to turn it on in the second half.
“It was a bit sloppy in the first half, but we got it going in the second which is really pleasing,” he said.
“I think we stuck to our patterns in the second half. Completed a few sets, played it out and scored a few tries which were pleasing. We played to our level.
“It was a bit of a slow game, so we stepped it up and made it a bit more entertaining.”
Both sides traded blows earlier getting close to opening the scoring but were unable to get across before Waratahs’ Maile Ngu used his speed to get across the line.
They looked to have scored another before a try saving strip prevented Michael Kilby from extending their lead.
The Roosters made the most of this and levelled it up with 10 minutes remaining in the first half after Josh Veivers crossed and converted his own try.
The second half was a different story as the Tigers looked to move the ball around quickly with success.
The try of the day was a great example of this with Luke Farmer throwing a floated pass out to Ben Vearing who ran onto the ball and into space to extend their lead to 18-6 early in the second half.
Hanneman wasn’t too surprised to see this bring success to his side.
“It's something that comes pretty naturally to our boys,”
“We have been doing it for the last four years it's just how we play.”
It was a game with extra meaning for both sides as they battled it out for the Jack Carroll Cup with Hannaman pleased his side were able to take it out.
“It's huge it means a lot to the boys at the club in all grades,” he said.
“Obviously there is a big connection there with both sides and the boys really get up for it and take it very seriously and really respect the game.”
The result means the Tahs have now won five of their last six games since the general bye and sees them leapfrog DPC into fourth who have now lost three of their last four games.
