President Terry Ward said the event was a success, with about 190 people turning up for rides.
“The event was certainty a success, however I think the very cold weather kept a lot of people away,” Mr Ward said.
The money raised from these events means the tracks are receiving a 700-metre upgrade, which Mr Ward hopes to have completed by Easter next year.
“The Lorraine Ward Memorial Run is helping to fund our extension, and we managed to save enough that we could do it now.
”We are also using left-over steel from when we first opened up, so this is very exciting for us.”
Lorraine Ward was heavily involved with the start up of the Museum Miniature Railway, and managed finance, insurance and “pretty much ran the show”, according to Mr Ward.
