RIVERINA League representative coach Guy Orton is unsure what to expect from AFL Canberra in Saturday’s interleague clash at Robertson Oval.
AFL Canberra have undergone a number of changes to their competition in recent times with all clubs back after stints in the North Eastern Australian Football League (NEAFL).
Riverina will be out to bounce back from last year’s shock loss to Hume League and Orton presumes they will be up against some slick opposition.
“I haven’t heard too much about them,” Orton said.
“Talking to a few blokes and the league over there, they go in and get their own ball, but it’s more of an outside running league.
“With blokes who have played a bit of NEAFL, they’re sure to have quality players in their side.”
Riverina League finalised their preparations for Saturday with a brief training run at Narrandera Sportsground on Thursday night, followed by a team dinner.
