Instead it was the selfless efforts of chefs, Tony Singh, Bobby Singh, Harry Singh, Mindy Singh, Mintu Singh and Bubble Singh – who each gave up a day’s work to volunteer their time and efforts to put together a meal drawing more than 250 people all the way out to the Binya Hall.
The night was a major fundraising event for the CEF which works to help local students realise their tertiary education goals by providing scholarships to those who need an extra helping hand.
In 2016 the fund awarded $22,000 in grants to nine local students.
