The Griffith RSL sub-branch has expressed its regret after it says was forced to cancel its Anzac Day march on Tuesday morning, as rain continued to fall over the city.
In a post on their Facebook page the RSL executive apologised to all of those who were planning to be involved in the march.
“This will particularly disappoint the school children and we apologise to all of them,” they wrote.
The city’s Anzac Day service will still go ahead and has been transferred to the Mirrool Room at the Griffith Exies Club, however organisers have warned the community there will be limited space available so early attendance is advised.
The service will begin at 11am with a limited wreath laying ceremony still scheduled.
Sadly the traditional laying of flowers on the graves of Ex-Servicemen buried at the Griffith ceremony has also been cancelled due to the weather.
However, organisers said crosses would remain on the graves for the rest of the week so families can lay flowers in the days to come.
