A recent online poll conducted by The Area News shows an overwhelming majority of readers believe Councillors should be free to speak with the media about council business and policy.

Out of 116 responses 86.21 per cent of people voted yes to allow Councillors the freedom to speak out, compared to the 13.79 per cent who voted no.
Councillors voted to adopt the policy at their last meeting, those who speak out of turn risk a ‘code of conduct.’
