A jobs forum hosted by the Griffith Business Chamber will be held on Thursday, with Member for Farrer Sussan Ley to be the special guest.
The idea behind the event is to make businesses aware of a government program that is assisting young Australians in becoming ready for the workforce.
Businesses can take advantage of a $1000 grant to help young people gain experience through a four to 12 week internship, which Ms Ley will detail on the day.
If a Griffith business then hires that same young person, they may be entitled to an additional payment of $6500 to contribute to ongoing training and development of the employee.
Ms Ley is also keen to hear what challenges Griffith businesses are currently facing and how the government can help the city to grow and prosper in the future.
The forum will be held at the Griffith Leagues Club from 6pm and is open to chamber members and non-chamber members.
