A celebration of the victory of good over evil as well as the beginning of Spring, Holi is typically celebrated by participants throwing coloured powder into the air and onto one another.
For the team at the preschool, who teach students from 26 nationalities, the celebration of festivals from the many different cultures who call the city home is incredibly important.
“We try to celebrate most of the festivals of other cultures,” Rajy Atwal said on Monday.
“We don’t have just one culture here, it is for everyone.”
Ms Atwal said she was so grateful to see the enjoyment all of the centre’s children had gotten from the activity, which was followed by a special morning tea.
“It is not only good for the Indian children to learn their culture but also for the other children here because they are learning to enjoy another culture,” she said.
“They are loving this.”
