On Wednesday March 1, 16 public primary schools competed at the Griffith Zone swimming carnival. The Area News photographer Anthony Stipo was at the carnival to capture some snaps.
The individual champions were:
Junior Boy: Dane O’Connor - Lake Wyangan PS
Junior Girl: Cadence Busby - Griffith East PS
11 years Boy: Blake Flanagan - Hanwood PS
11 Years Girl: Nicole Taylor - Griffith North PS
Senior Boy (tie): Benjamin O’Connor - Lake Wyangan PS and Harrison Foster - Darlington Point PS
Senior Girl: Piper Stewart - Griffith North PS.
The overall winning school was Griffith East PS while Griffith North PS was runner up. The handicap trophy (points divided by school population) was Hillston CS.
A Griffith Zone swimming team was selected and they will travel to Albury on Monday 13 March to compete at the Riverina swimming carnival.
The Griffith Zone PSSA would like to thank the Griffith Swimming Club for their support in running the carnival.
