
WEDNESDAY, March 1 was the opening day for the 2017 season, and 31 ladies braved the hot weather for a single stableford event, for the Mary Gifford and Yvonne Couper Trophy.
The ladies shared a beautiful afternoon tea and cool drinks after a hard day in the hot weather conditions.
Winning scores: Division 1: Elizabeth Graham with a great score of 39. Runner-up was Kathy King on 31. Division 2: Bruna Ross with 34, runner-up was Kaye Dalton on 33. Division 3: Robyn Hoare with impressive 37, runner-up Liz Humphreys on 32.
There was only one NTP – Eleanor Hancock in Division 2. There were 12 ball winners to those who scored 26 points or above.
Saturday, March 4 was a stableford with a small field of only 17 ladies, another hot day.
Winner of Division 1 was Elizabeth Graham, 32, on countback from Rose Alpen. Division 2 winner was Margare James, 30, on countback from Shirley Carter. There was no NTP and there were five ball winners on a countback with 28 or above.
Ladies are reminded VETS membership of $3 is due please register with Mary Gifford. RLGA Opening Day is April 3 at Coolamon. Registrations close Wednesday, March 15. Entry form is on the notice board in the ladies change room.
Today is a stableford, captains Will Mead and Rose Aplen. Saturday a stroke monthly medal, captains Chris Cunial and Shirley Painting.
