Farnham performed an extensive catalogue of hits and engaged the crowd during his time on stage, leaving everyone satisfied.
“When you are talking about John Farnham, you are talking about a performer on another level. With the show he puts on noone would go home disappointed,” Tour promoter Duane McDonald said.
“John enjoyed it too. He came off the stage and said that was the best show of the tour.”
And while Whispering Jack might have been the headline act, others including Darryl Braithwaite, James Reyne, Shannon Noll and Taxiride also kept the audience entertained.
“Often when you have four or five performers on a bill, people might have a specific act they are going to see but everyone stayed until the end,” Mr McDonald said.
After two years of highly successful concerts, organisers are keen to get Dubbo locked in again for next year.
“The show was a sell-out and a bigger crowd than last year so we are delighted with it,” Mr McDonald said.
“Peter and Pam Scott have done a great job to have Lazy River Estate looking immaculate for the event and we will sit down and have a chat with them and hopefully they will be happy to have us back again.
“I think Peter was pretty excited. He commented that not too many people can say John Farnham performed in their backyard.”
There were issues with the large volume of traffic trying to leave after the concert.
Ogden’s Coaches transported approximately half of the audience to and from the event from locations around town but there were still an estimated 1200 cars trying to get out at the end of the night.
“Unfortunately there is only one road in and one road out so with the volume of traffic it did take time to get people moving but everyone was very understanding,” Mr McDonald said.
“The buses were moving 600 people in every transfer and in total 2500 people came in on buses but that still leaves a lot of cars.”
Mr McDonald thanked everyone for their patience while leaving.
