This year Catholic School Week theme ‘‘Catholic schools: great learning, great communities” is particularly apt for St Patrick’s School.
The school is focussed on the student learning and making sure they are the best that they can be.
To this end, St Patrick’s has worked very hard in recent history to ensure the facilities reflect the movement in contemporary Education.
The learning spaces are second to none with the emphasis being on collaboration and collegiality.
Teachers work together to plan, teach and assess the students.
Students are being prepared to take their place in an ever changing society with a focus in being prepared not just for today, but into the future.
Specialist music and art teachers have been employed this year.
This initiative supports the Diocesan injection of funds into all schools around music programs.
Students are tutored by St Patrick’s gifted music teacher as well as instructed by a group of music teachers from outside the school who have been employed by the Catholic Schools Office.
Students will also have the opportunity to participate in a band project this term.
The school will also participates in the Diocesan Targeted Mathematics Project during the next three years.

Meaning there is a a full-time mathematics teacher working throughout the school but particularly targeting kindergarten to year two students.
Our Annual Improvement Plan has mathematics as a major focus this year.
An enthusiastic group of new students were welcomed at the start of the school year.
These students participated in an induction programme last year which enabled the transition to “big school” to be seamless.
New and enthusiastic teachers were also welcomed to the school.
All have settled in well and have found St Patrick’s to be a very welcoming community.
A Resilience Project has been introduced this year to build resilience in students in order to develop mental health.
This approach is aimed at building capacity in students, an end result that St Patrick's is passionate about.
