THE idea of coffee with a cop has proved to be a successful idea after around 50 residents showed up to have a chat with Griffith Police officers.
Inspector Nick Seddon said people were really impressed with the idea and the concept behind it.
He sees this as an opportunity for the general public to engage with the police in a positive fashion and making them more approachable.
“We just wanted to be able to be more of an approachable face and talk to people on a more friendly level and break down that stigma and the barrier between the public and the police,” he said.
Inspector Seddon has urged anyone who was unable to attend the meet-up but has a question to ask to get in contact with the Griffith Police Station on 6969 4299.
