
THIS week’s beautiful weather brought out larger numbers of golfers keen to get some practice in before the winter competition starts next week. Last Wednesday’s stroke competition attracted 22 players across three divisions. The winner of Division 1 was Yvonne Cooper with a net 76. Runner-up, Kathy King shot a net 80. The winner of Division 2 was Kaye Dalton with a net 78, from runner-up Eleanor Hancock carding a net 79 on countback. Division 3 winner was Shirley Carter with a 77 net. Runner-up was Pat Pauling carding a net 81 on a count back.
There were four ball winners with a score of 81 net required.
Saturday was a stableford. A field of 21 ladies competed in three divisions. The winner of Division 1 was Karen Murray with 34 from Kathy King on 33. Division 2 winner was Eleanor Hancock with 29 on countback from Kaye Dalton. The winner of Division 3 was Emily Christie on 33 from Liz Humphries on 31.
There were three ball winners with a score of 29 required on countback.
Saturday’s Secret Nine was the back nine. The winners were Judy Leeson with 16 points in Division 1, Mary Gifford on 14 points in Division 2 and Robyn Hoare with 15 points in Division 3.
Next Saturday’s competition is a 4BBB Stableford and the last round of the summer competition. Opening Day for the winter competition is on Wednesday, March 1. Ladies are asked to bring a plate to share.
