SEVERAL red and amber alerts for blue-green algae in MIA irrigation channels and storage facilities have been lifted for livestock use.
Amber alerts remain in place for the Barren Box Intermediate Cell, the Corynnia Channel, and Channel 1 and 18 on Cameron Road.
At an amber alert level the water is not considered suitable for potable use, however, it is now suitable for recreational, stock or domestic use.
Last week, the Barren Box Intermediate Cell, the Corynnia Channel, and Channel 1 and 18 were on Amber Alert while the Barren Box Active Cell and the Wah Wah Outfall Channel were on Red Alert for Blue-Green Algae (BGA).
Water samples by Murrumbidgee Irrigation show BGA levels in the Wah Wah Outfall and Corynnia Channel systems are now suitable for stock and domestic use.
