It was free-for-all Saturday for the Griffith Joggers on Scenic Hill this week. Even the wildest opinions regarding the meaning of the question mark where the map usually sits on the information board, did not guess what the Joggers were in for.

For the first time in the history of the Joggers it was a total free for all with any start time, any course, any distance, fast or slow, the only rules being don't get lost and don't run on the road.
So there were Joggers spread all over the Hill with the more adventurous finding new and rarely used tracks, and others safely repeating recent weeks, runners crossing in opposite directions, runners crossing at intersections, runners on tracks above or below.
Of course, the result times are completely irrelevant as everyone ran different distances, but Joggers were awarded three kilometres in the WardleWaddle for entering the Short, and six kilometres for Long.
The earliest Short course runners came back around twenty minutes while the Longs poured back in after thirty minutes, suggesting a well guessed three or six kilometres, while the sixteen-minute group ran a hard paced eight kilometres plus, to the dismay of Rodney Savage.
There is one more week of the BeSocial series before the competitive juices again flow with the start of the Bacchus Competition leading up to the annual Flexible Solutions Bacchus on the Lake on Easter Friday.
The Joggers run each Saturday at 5:30pm from the water tower opposite Pioneer Park with a choice of long or short courses over the tracks and trails of Scenic Hill, be early to register.
