AN EARLY morning house fire near the Griffith Showgrounds is being treated as suspicious.
Emergency services were called to McKern Place after concerned neighbours reported seeing smoke and flames coming from a house, about 12.30am on Sunday.
NSW Fire and Rescue extinguished the blaze and an examination indicated entry may have been forced prior to the fire.
The house, which was severely damaged, was vacant and no persons were in the premises at the time of the fire
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed, or who has information regarding this incident are asked to contact Griffith Police or Crime Stoppers.
