
Two men have been charged following an investigation into an aggravated break and enter in 2015, where a man was seriously assaulted in Hillston.
About 6.45pm, October 3 2015, two men allegedly forced entry into a house in Molesworth Street, one armed with a hammer and the other with a firearm.
It’s further alleged the two men assaulted the 25-year-old occupant causing significant facial injuries. The man was taken to Griffith Base Hospital and treated for his injuries.
A crime scene was established and an investigation commenced by police attached to Griffith Local Area Command.
About 10.45am Tuesday, January 10 2017, police arrested a 22-year-old man at a house in Griffith. He was charged with special aggravated break and enter with a firearm.
On Wednesday, January 11 2017, police arrested a 32-year-old Hillston man. He was charged with being an accessory before the fact of the offence. He was refused bail to appear in Deniliquin Local Court on Friday, January 13.
A 27-year-old Griffith man was also charged on November 29 2016, with special aggravated break and enter. He was refused bail and is due to reappear in Griffith Local Court on Wednesday January 18 2017.
