Exies will be out to reverse last week’s disappointing loss to Coro when the side takes on Yenda at Westend on Saturday.
Our bowling wasn’t too bad, we just lost too many wickets too early, we have to turn that around this weekend.
- Exies captain Phil Burge on last week's effort
Captain Phil Burge said Exies’ batting would need to improve if the side’s fortunes were to turn around in Griffith District Cricket Association first grade.
“Our batting let us down,” Burge said of the match against Coro.
“Our bowling wasn’t too bad, we just lost too many wickets too early, we have to turn that around this weekend.
“It (the pitch) had a little bit in it early for the bowlers but we just found ways to get out. We have to knuckle down this week.”
The struggling Yenda Jets are out to shake a five-match losing streak.
They look set to be bolstered with captain Brett Hazelman likely to return to the team after a week off.
For Exies, there is the possibility of just the one change for Saturday’s clash.
“The side will be fairly similar to last week,” Burge said.
“Mick Shepherd might be out other than that it’ll be the same.”
The match starts at 1pm.
