MAKING sure no youth fall through the gaps. That’s what the newly formed ‘Justice for Youth in Griffith’ (JFYG) group will be focused on making a reality. The group say they have been given to understand that there are no social workers in Griffith and surrounding areas to help to respond to and help with caring for youth suffering from depression, drug addiction, alcoholism and homelessness, nor assistance to parents and family members on how to live with and assist youth suffering from these conditions. They are also concerned with reports of a lack of facility where such suffering youth can be accommodated in the city while treatment is being carried out. JFYG will be conducting research and gathering information to verify these perceptions.
