Inspector Nick Seddon from Griffith Local Area Command said police charged a man 21-year-old man with stealing a digital camera from a white truck parked in Short Street, Narrandera, on New Year’s Eve, 2013.
“Investigations were undertaken at the time and a forensic examination led to fingerprints and DNA evidence being collected,” Inspector Seddon said.
“This month, police identified this man from that material and he was charged on Sunday.”
The accused, who was 17-years-old at the time of the offence, was issued a court attendance notice to face Narrandera Local Court at a later date.
“This case goes to show that police will persist with seeking evidence about an offence until such time as we can take action,” Inspector Seddon said.
“Police use forensics for this reason, so we can identify people who may have been involved in an offence.”
