Both long and short courses were won comfortably by Chris Barbagallo and Tammy Mingay respectively.
In fact, their performances were so good that the race director was left wondering if they had run the wrong course. Tammy in particular, surprised many given she was backing up the next day in the Half on the Hill.
As it turned out, she took first place in the women’s team event and will be one to watch in the Surfer Competition.
Gary Andreazza, Campbell Jeremy, Chris Palmer and Richard West had a great battle in the 6.2km long course to fill the top five.
Further down the top 10 the fastest time of the week was recorded by Mark Andreazza.
Regular speedsters Connor Bourke (13:01) and Breanna Restagno (14:59) again clocked the fastest times over the 3.1km course.
Lachlan O’Grady, Ivano Donadel and Sergio Codognotto completed the top five but, with only seconds splitting the top 10 placings, could have just as easily missed out on valuable competition points.
Most Ferals competing in the Half on the Hill took it easy. Brendon Sinclair thought it would be safe to take it extra easy by doing the short course but disaster struck just 30 metres from home as he limped to the line on a rolled ankle.
Initial fears of him missing the Half on the Hill were soon dispelled as he put in a great time.
The Feral Joggers run each Saturday afternoon at 4:30pm, starting from the water tower across from Pioneer Park, following the trails and tracks of Scenic Hill.
