Brendan McPherson’s case was mentioned in Wagga Local Court on Monday.
His solicitor, Lucy Maranga, said McPherson was not required to appear in court for the mention and bail was not sought.
The case was adjourned until August 24 for Ms Maranga to reply to the prosecution’s brief of evidence.
McPherson, 28, is charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
A 26-year-old woman is charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and was granted conditional bail to appear in court on Tuesday.
It is alleged McPherson stabbed a 28-year-old man during a confrontation in a Mumford Street house on Friday afternoon.
He was arrested the same day.
