National Poker League organiser Michelle Andrews said league runs Texas hold 'em poker games across the Riverina most nights of the week but large jackpots only come about a few times a year.
“It's a social thing and we have people who come along who like the social interaction,” she said.
“We've got couples who come and there's even a group who goes to dinner together afterwards.
“Some players use math and calculate the odds but most just play their cards and the other players, they might not even have a hand but if they can pick up what someone else has then they can make out they have something and bluff their way through.”
