Of those 140 runners, 40 clocked in their best times.
In the long course, Jessie Wythes made her first appearance for over a year to remind us all how mighty fast she is.
Wythes blitzed the field and was the fastest female in a time of 28.01.
Nicole Restagno continues to improve her times and came in second, grabbing the competition lead from Adrian Baird in the process.
Baird had a big day out, managing two falls in his pursuit of glory.
Another rapid improver, Fiona Fattore, just edged out Jeremy Woodhouse by a second to come in third.
Matthew Ross put in a big effort to place fifth and now holds equal second place in the competition with Adrian.
Sheila Marcus made a welcome return to the top 10 in sixth and Simon Bonny followed quickly behind in seventh.
In quick succession – separated only by a few seconds – were James Lace, Tony Rockov and Graeme Lyons.
Aiden Fattore returned to the hill after a month away to record the fastest time of 23.46.
In the short course, Xavier McLeod cut almost three minutes from his previous time to take the honours.
He just beat last week’s long course winner Tara Payne by a second.
Hayley Mcleod was third, followed by Jacob Dalo, Nicholas Piva and Ruby Cornale in her first winter competition appearance.
Connor Bourke came in seventh beating Natalie Donadel and April Andreazza, who battled out to tie for eighth spot.
Margaret O’Grady followed a second later in 10th position.
Connor Bourke was the fastest male in a time of 14.47 and Victoria McLeod the fastest female in 16.53.
The short course competition continues to be a very tight battle with many runners in contention. Christian Cavallaro now leads the pack by only a point from Natalie Donadel
The joggers meet every Saturday at the water tower on the hill opposite Pioneer Park at 4.30pm. Please arrive early to register.
